Smoker, for a really nice deck!

Hi guys, I have just finished building a really nice and big deck. I would like to install/build a really good smoker on it for doing 2 hams at the most, and right down to chicken, turkeys, and especially fish! I would think it would have to be about 3.5 feet wide and 3 to 4 feat deep and about 6 to 7 feet high.
I can use gas or electric to fire things. problem no one seems to be able to tell me how to build a really classy looking smoker on my deck. I don't want to use an old refrigerator on the deck, I want this to be something special that I can build. Can you give me some advise on what and or how to do it? I simply can't afford one of those commercial jobs.
