Some time ago, there was a dicussion about fridge smokers. (See the below link), if I remember correctly, it was made from a discarded stainless steel commercial refrigerator, There were photo's of it below, but have since been removed.
You may want to contact the poster to see them.
Being stainless and with the nice modifications, you may want to consider something along those lines.

The pictures were great.
