CREAMY NUT DIPPED CANDIES
5 cups powdered sugar
¾ cup flaked coconut
1/3 cup LAND O LAKES butter,softened
¼ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup mixed nuts
1 package (10 ounces) almond bark, vanilla or chocolate candy coatingIn large mixer bowl combine 4 cups (read that carefully,4 cups)powdered sugar, coconut, butter, salt, milk and vanilla.
Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until light and fluffy,4 to 5 minutes.By hand, knead in remaining 1 cup powdered sugar.(Dough may be soft.) Form 1 teaspoon of dough around each nut;roll into ball.Refrigerate until firm,2 hours. In 2-quart saucepan over low heat, melt almond bark. Dip chilled balls into melted coating;place on waxed paper.Drizzle with remaining almond bark.Store refrigerated.Makes about 5½ dozen candies.
In the picture they used both vanilla and chocolate almond bark and used the opposite to drizzle on the other.Looks very pretty. When I made them they looked like I spilled something on my candy...not like the pretty picture in the recipe book, which is...Great American Favorite Brand Name Cookbook.Love this cookbook, lots of pictures!!
